Pitlochry

It may start with a fairly steep climb up the first few holes but the views from the high points around the Pitlochry golf course are quite simply superb. At the Southern end of the Scottish Highlands, the course overlooks heavily wooded hills and mountains in almost all directions, as well as the valley carved by the River Tummel.

There are tree lined fairways and elevated tees, undulating small and sloping greens and mountain backdrops. The downhill approach back to the clubhouse from the 18th tee is an enjoyable and satisfying end to your round, made a little trickier by the approach shot over a burn.

The relatively short length of the course does not make this is an easy option, but it is above all scenic and enjoyable. Pitlochry golf course has been described as a venue "where golf, beauty and the social life go hand in hand."
