So you've decided you'd like to play golf in Scotland, but where do you begin your planning? Golfers all around the world want to make a trip to play in Scotland at least once, but bringing a plan together is not as simple as it might first seem.
Do you know how far courses may be apart from each other? Do you understand the issues of securing tee-times on the St Andrews Old course? Did you know Royal Troon only has visitor times 3 days a week? Have you any idea of green fee costs? Well, that's why we came up with Golf Independent.
We have taken 10 years' experience of organising golf trips in Scotland for international visitors from around the world and shared our knowledge on this website. All of Scotland's wonderfully diverse golf courses are included - all 566 of them. We have selected 66 courses to feature in more detail, but you are free to browse all courses, selecting by, for example, course type, number of holes, region or green fee.
We guide you on visitor days, handicap requirements and contact details. Select courses close to each other, based on our drive time guidance, or start with your preferred accommodation from our suggestions around the country and we show you which courses are nearby.
And all of this is free to use! No fees, no hidden charges, no subscription, just impartial, independent advice, hints and tips from our team.
You can rest assured that no golf course or accommodation has paid to be included on this website so the guidance given is based on our knowledge and experience.
We will continue to develop and improve Golf Independent to maintain our aim of it being the best place to research, plan and arrange your golf tour in Scotland.
