Edinburgh Airport

Edinburgh Airport is the nearest airport to Scotland's best known golf courses for most incoming flights. The links of Muirfield, North Berwick and Gullane are less an hour's drive east on the East Lothian coast, the St Andrews links, including the Old course, are less than 90 minutes to the north, while the three Championship courses at the Gleneagles resort and the scenic golf courses of Perthshire are also an hour away.

Edinburgh has scheduled flights to 115 different European airports, including the largest choice in Scotland of major airline hubs connections. These include:

Edinburgh is directly connected to the United States with scheduled flights operated by United Airlines from Chicago, Newark and Washington, from Boston and New York JFK with Delta and Philadelphia with American Airlines.

Direct flights from the Middle East with Qatar Airways from Doha and Emirates from Dubai open up many long haul options.

Car Rental

All the major car rental companies can be found at the airport: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz, National, Sixt Rent a Car and Thrifty. In addition Scotland's own national car rental company, Arnold Clark is just on the perimeter of the airport with a shuttle service available from outside the terminal building.

Accommodation

There is a Hilton and a Holiday Inn Express close to the airport with a number of other hotels such as Norton House Hotel, the Dakota, Premier Inn Edinburgh M9, Jct1 and Premier Inn Edinburgh Park within 15 minutes of the Airport. But staying in the city centre the night before a flight is a very viable option - as Edinburgh Airport is well connected to the city centre by very reliable tram and Airlink bus connections which take half an hour to Princes Street in the heart of the city.
